The list of entries for the 2024 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has been officially revealed. The headline event of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) will have a total of 62 cars on the starting grid, with the Hypercar class and the LMGT3 class being the most well-represented with 28 cars each.
In the Hypercar class, in addition to the full-season entrants, there will be the invited Whelen Cadillac Racing, as well as another car from Cadillac Racing, a second Lamborghini, and a third Porsche from Porsche Penske Motorsport. There are still some drivers to be announced, although most of the teams are already confirmed.
The LMP2 class will have the smallest field, with 16 participants. Five of them are invited to Le Mans: AF Corse with the Oreca #188, Algarve Pro Racing with the Oreca #25, Cool Racing with the Oreca #37, Crowdstrike Racing by APR with the Oreca #45, and United Autosports USA competing with the Oreca #23. The only Portuguese driver on the grid will be Filipe Albuquerque, sharing the United Autosports Oreca #22 with two yet-to-be-confirmed drivers.
As for the LMGT3 class, there will also be 28 cars, including two invited entries: the Proton Competition Ford #44 and the Inception Racing McLaren #70. GR Racing, JMW Motorsport, and Spirit of Racing will also be occasional participants.
The entry list for the 24 Hours of Le Mans also includes substitutes, as usual. The first one is another Porsche from Proton Competition in the Hypercar class, followed by an Oreca from Inter Europol in LMP2. Then, there will be an Aston Martin from Racing Spirit of LeMan, a Ferrari from Kessel Racing, and another Ferrari from Formula Racing in LMGT3. The list of substitutes also includes two Oreca LMP2 cars: one from Richard Mille by TDS and another from Staysail Motorsport.
