Tasman, the upcoming vehicle that is expected to rely on fossil fuel, will soon be joined by a second model that may have battery-electric power. This new model is rumored to compete with popular electric trucks such as the Rivian R1T, Ram 1500 REV, Ford F-150 Lightning, GMC Sierra EV, Chevrolet Silverado EV, and the controversial Tesla Cybertruck.

However, this article will focus on the Tasman, which is getting closer to production. We have seen renderings and a camouflaged prototype that have revealed some of its features. The Tasman is expected to challenge trucks like the Jeep Gladiator, Nissan Frontier, Ford Ranger, and Toyota Tacoma.

When it comes to the looks and features of the Tasman, there are several noteworthy details. The front of the vehicle is expected to have an upright styling with distinctive lighting and a special grille. The corporate logo will likely be displayed on the hood, and the vehicle will have black cladding on the lower body. Unlike the renderings, spy shots have shown that the Tasman will have roof rails. The window line and door handles also appear to be well-designed, avoiding the common flush-mounted design seen in many vehicles today.

In terms of the interior, a recent prototype provided a glimpse of the cabin. While some parts were covered, we can share rumors about the overall layout. The interior is said to have a minimalist design, featuring a wide curved display that combines the infotainment system and digital gauges. These displays are rumored to measure 12.3 inches diagonally and will be housed behind a single pane of glass.

Overall, the Tasman is shaping up to be a promising contender in the truck market, offering both traditional and electric powertrain options. With its unique design and anticipated features, it will certainly attract attention among truck enthusiasts.

Kia Tasman: A New Pickup Truck for Adventurers

Get ready for the exciting new Kia Tasman, a rugged and capable pickup truck designed for those who love to explore the great outdoors. With its dual-cab body style, this truck can comfortably seat five adults, making it perfect for both everyday commutes and weekend adventures. The interior is beautifully appointed, featuring black leather upholstery that adds a touch of luxury to the ruggedness of the vehicle.

When it comes to technology, the Kia Tasman has you covered. Expect to find smartphone integration, Bluetooth connectivity, and a reliable sat-nav system. And for those who need to stay connected on the go, there may even be a Wi-Fi hotspot and over-the-air updates available. Safety is also a top priority, with features like a 360-degree camera system and possibly a semi-autonomous driving system. Plus, the hill-start assist and various driving modes will ensure that you can tackle any terrain with confidence.

Underneath its bold exterior, the Kia Tasman is built on a sturdy body-on-frame platform, similar to the Mohave/Borrego. This means that it is ready to take on any off-road challenges you throw its way. With a four-wheel drive system, you can conquer even the toughest trails. However, for those who prefer a more economical option, there may also be two-wheel drive models available.

Powering the Kia Tasman is a range of impressive engines. One option is a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, delivering an impressive 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. For those outside of North America, there may also be a 2.2-liter CRDi turbodiesel engine with over 200 horsepower. And to cater to the environmentally conscious crowd, Kia may even offer a partially electrified unit.

While there is still much speculation surrounding the launch date and availability of the Kia Tasman, rumors suggest that it may be unveiled later this year, with orders opening towards the end of 2025. Initially, it is expected to be available in South Korea and Australia, but there is a possibility of it making its way to North America in the future. Keep an eye out for this exciting new pickup truck and let us know if you’d like to see it in your market!
