2025 Genesis G80 Launches in the Land Down Under With Optional Sport Package

The 2025 Genesis G80 has arrived in Australia with a brand new look and upgraded features. Available for order now, the luxury sedan comes in two variants, the 2.5T and 3.5T AWD, both equipped with the standard Luxury Package. Prices start at AUD 104k or approximately $68,550, which is higher compared to the 2024 G80 in America. In Australia, upgrading to the 3.5-liter turbo is necessary for all-wheel drive, with prices starting at AUD 121k or almost $80k. It’s important to note that the prices mentioned are the Manufacturer’s List Price, and additional fees apply before reaching the final on-road price.

According to Genesis, the enhancements made to the 2025 G80 justify the higher price tag. The sedan boasts sophisticated exterior and interior updates, as well as improved safety, comfort, and convenience features. The Luxury Package is now included as standard across the range, and the only available options are matte paint, Rear-Seat Entertainment, and the Sport Package, exclusive to the 3.5T variant.

On the outside, the executive sedan showcases restyled bumpers and a G-Matrix radiator grille. It also features Micro Lens Array LED headlights with Dynamic Welcome Light function, new 19- and 20-inch wheels, and a selection of fresh colors such as Vatna Grey, Kawah Blue, Brooklyn Brown, and the 2025 G80 Sport-exclusive Cavendish Red. Inside, drivers will find a new three-spoke steering wheel, a 27-inch OLED Integrated Display for infotainment and instrument cluster functions, Over the Air (OTA) software update capability, and the latest Genesis Connected Services (GCS).

In terms of safety and driver assistance, the 2025 G80 offers a range of new or upgraded features. These include Highway Driving Assist 2, Forward Collision Avoidance-Assist 2 with Car/Pedestrian/Cyclist detection, and Lane Following Assist 2 with Hands-on Detection. Justin Douglass, Head of Genesis Motors Australia, stated that the 2025 G80 elevates the flagship sedan with its stylish updates and abundance of additional features, delivering an unparalleled luxury experience.

Both variants of the 2025 Genesis G80 come with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2.5T model delivers 224 kW and 422 Nm of torque (300 hp and 311 lb-ft), while the 3.5T model offers 279 kW and 530 Nm of torque (374 hp and 391 lb-ft), along with an all-wheel drive system. The Sport Package adds rear-wheel steering (RWS), a Sport+ drive mode, launch control, electronic LSD for the rear axle, and various styling enhancements inside and outside the vehicle.
