2025 World Endurance Championship Calendar Revealed
On Friday, during the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the calendar for the 2025 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship was revealed. The calendar consists of eight stages and includes an extension of the contract for the Imola circuit in Italy.
2025 Season Begins in Qatar
The 2025 season will start in Qatar for the second consecutive year, following the success of the Qatar 1812KM debut this year. The Qatar prologue will take place on February 21 and 22, and the first stage of the championship, the 1812KM, will be held on February 28.
Imola Renews Contract and Will Host the Championship until 2028
For the second consecutive year, the historic Imola circuit in Emilia Romagna will host a stage of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Imola has signed a contract to host the championship until 2028 and has committed to improving the paddock and box facilities.
Petro Benvenuti, General Director of Formula Imola, expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating: “It is a great achievement to announce, here in Le Mans, the agreement with LMEM to keep the two races – WEC and ELMS – in Imola for the next four years. The collaboration and respect between Frédéric Lequien, Cédric Vilatte, and ourselves have resulted in this significant outcome. We have received fundamental support from the Municipality of Imola and, in particular, from Mayor Marco Panieri. The WEC is an event of great importance for the circuit and the region, as demonstrated by the enthusiastic participation of many spectators who come to experience the ‘Spirit of Le Mans’ and enjoy the race in the Emilia-Romagna region.”
The 2025 calendar remains unchanged
The 2025 calendar remains unchanged compared to 2024, with the 6-hour race in Imola followed by the 6-hour race in Spa-Francorchamps on May 10.
24 Hours of Le Mans will take place in June 2025
On June 14 and 15, 2025, the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place. After this prestigious event, the FIA World Endurance Championship will continue with the 6-hour race in São Paulo on July 13. The Lone Star Le Mans race will be held at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas on September 7, followed by the 6-hour race in Fuji on September 28. The season will conclude with the 8-hour race in Bahrain on November 8.
WEC CEO highlights the importance of balancing interests
