2024 Skoda Scala Hatchback and Kamiq Crossover Launch With Updates Across the Board

Skoda is giving a major update to its Scala hatchback and Kamiq sibling, both of which are part of the modular architecture connected with other models like the Skoda Fabia, VW T-Cross, and Polo. The Scala, introduced in 2019, is a compact hatchback that sits between the Fabia and Octavia models. On the other hand, the Kamiq is a subcompact crossover SUV that was launched in 2019 as part of Skoda’s expansion of its crossover range.

The updated Scala and Kamiq models come with a comprehensive set of upgrades to enhance their performance and appearance. The changes include the introduction of LED Matrix headlights, redesigned front and rear aprons, and sharper LED lights. These updates give the vehicles a more dynamic and sporty look. The interior has also been refreshed with new materials that are more sustainable, optional electric tailgate, and new Simply Clever features. The cockpit of both models now features a standard 8-inch Digital Display and an 8.25-inch infotainment system, making it completely digital. The vehicles also come with multiple USB-C ports and a Phone Box with wireless charging.

In terms of grades and interior options, there are now three grades available – SE, SE L, and Monte Carlo. Customers can choose from three distinct interior Design Selections – Loft, Lodge, and Monte Carlo. The upholstery and door panels now use recycled fabrics, hemp, and kenaf, making them more environmentally friendly.

Under the hood, the Scala and Kamiq are equipped with more powerful and efficient 1.0-liter and 1.5L TSI engines. The 1.0 TSI engine now has six more horsepower, bringing the total to 116 ps (114 hp). The 1.5 TSI engine features a new catalytic converter and upgraded software for the ACT+ active cylinder deactivation system, allowing it to run more efficiently on just two cylinders.

Overall, the updates to the Skoda Scala and Kamiq make them a more dynamic duo with improved performance, enhanced design, and sustainable materials in the interior. These upgrades further strengthen Skoda’s position in the compact hatchback and subcompact crossover SUV segments.
