Fernando Alonso, from Aston Martin, set the fastest time in the second practice session before the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The two-time world champion topped the timesheets with a remarkable effort of 1:28.827s, beating George Russell’s subsequent lap by 0.230 seconds.
Max Verstappen, who initially led the first hour of practice at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, dropped to third place, trailing Russell by a tenth of a second. Charles Leclerc placed himself between the two Red Bull cars in the leading Ferrari, while Lance Stroll finished sixth in the second Aston Martin, but was five tenths of a second behind his teammate.
Carlos Sainz, who was not feeling well, secured seventh place, followed by Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes in eighth and Pierre Gasly in a surprising ninth place for Alpine. Oscar Piastri completed the top 10 for McLaren.
