2024 Japan Grand Prix Qualifying Results

Fernando Alonso, from Spain, competed for the Aston Martin F1 Team AMR24 on April 6, 2024. This took place during the Japanese Grand Prix, which is part of the Formula 1 World Championship. On qualifying day, Max Verstappen secured pole position, surpassing his teammate Sergio Perez. Red Bull dominated the front row of the grid in this race. Verstappen led in all three stages of qualifying and achieved a time of 1:28.197s, just 0.066s faster than Perez. This marked Verstappen’s third consecutive pole position at the Suzuka circuit. Lando Norris, driving for McLaren, finished in third place, repeating his position from the previous visit to this circuit. Carlos Sainz, who won the Australian Grand Prix, came in fourth for Ferrari. Alonso, representing Aston Martin, secured fifth place in the qualifying session. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri finished in sixth place, while Lewis Hamilton, driving for Mercedes, achieved the best position among the Mercedes cars for the first time this season. Charles Leclerc, also from Ferrari, had a challenging qualifying session and finished in eighth place. However, he managed to split the two Mercedes cars, with George Russell finishing in ninth place. Yuki Tsunoda, racing in front of his home fans, completed the top 10.
