VIDEO – 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona: Bringing Back the Muscle Car Magic?

Buying an all-new electric vehicle is expensive, but it’s also a great investment in the future. Provided you have a few caveats at your disposal, such as easy access to an outlet at home and/or at the office, and high-tech DC fast charging capabilities for when you’re on the road and far away from your usual base of operations.

Electric cars have gone mainstream. That was the trend ever since 2012 when Tesla demonstrated it’s possible with the Model S full-size sedan. What was once an early adopter’s dream is now a downpour of all-new models that seek to make the EV sector the fastest-growing of the automotive industry.

Last year, Tesla’s Model Y was the best-selling automobile in the world. This year, the situation is a little different because Tesla isn’t doing as great as it thought, and other carmakers are flooding the market with new models. Then there’s also the Chinese threat of cheap attractions, of course.

Obviously, the EV sector is a tough one to navigate at the moment – and that’s exactly what Dodge needs to do to safely land a homerun for the eighth-generation Charger. The all-new installment has big ambitions with its classic two-door fastback coupe and four-door sedan body styles, as well as the daring powertrain combination of EV variants and 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six twin-turbo versions.

Stellantis, of course, is not doing all too well this year either – and CEO Carlos Tavares has even threatened to kill off, sell, or merge brands that don’t make any money. Frankly, while Chrysler is in a more desperate position, Dodge isn’t far behind with the failed Hornet, the retired Challenger and Charger, plus the development costs associated with the introduction of the all-new Charger.

The model has officially debuted in front of the worldwide public during August 10’s Roadkill Nights powered by Dodge, and we’ll know more about the fan reaction once the dust settles on the event. Dodge is trying it all, including the fake sound of a V8 coming from the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system. Will it be enough? Well, it will also depend on how the general audience perceives the newly revealed MSRP details about the Charger Daytona EVs.

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T two-door model is set to make a splash with its standard Direct Connection Stage 1 Upgrade. And the best part? It’s free of charge for a limited time! With a starting price of $59,595 (excluding destination fees), this powerhouse is sure to turn heads. With an impressive 496 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque, it’s no wonder this beast qualifies for the full $7,500 federal tax credit when leased. Don’t miss out on this incredible offer!

But that’s not all. The “inaugural-year” Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack two-door takes things to the next level. Equipped with the Track Package and factory-installed Direct Connection Stage 2 Upgrade, this bad boy boasts a total output of 670 horsepower and 627 lb.-ft. of torque. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds and tear up the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds. That’s on par with the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, which only has 500 horsepower. And the best part? The Charger Daytona Scat Pack starts at a more affordable $60,365 compared to its competitors.

But hurry, because after the inaugural model year, Dodge may start charging for the Direct Connection upgrade stages. So, if you want to experience the full power of the Daytona, now is the time to act. And if you’re wondering about alternatives, there are plenty to choose from.

If you prefer something smaller and more nimble, the Ford Mustang GT or Dark Horse are great options. They offer a thrilling driving experience at a lower price point. And let’s not forget about electric vehicles. The Tesla Model 3 and Model Y are highly regarded in the EV market, offering excellent performance and value. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 GT are also worth considering, especially if you’re into hatchback CUVs. And for those looking for luxury, Mercedes and BMW have a range of options like the EQE, EQS, i5, and i7, with the added bonus of SUV versions. Just keep in mind that these luxury options come with a hefty price tag.

So, whether you’re a fan of raw power or looking to go electric, there are plenty of alternatives to consider. Don’t miss your chance to experience the thrill of the Dodge Charger Daytona while it’s still available for free.

In the world of electric vehicles, there are some exciting options to choose from. One standout is the family-sized Kia EV9, boasting three rows, a sleek design, and cutting-edge technology. Another contender is the Porsche Taycan, which now offers the impressive Taycan Turbo GT model that outperforms the Plaid. For those seeking a nostalgic experience reminiscent of Tesla’s early days, the Rivians and Lucid Air are worth considering. It’s worth noting that while there is a wide range of EVs available, none of them can match the unique appeal of the two-door Charger Daytona fastback coupe. Perhaps this distinctive model will be the game-changer we’ve been waiting for. So, which electric vehicle is your personal favorite?
