1978 Yamaha XS750 Gets Kawasaki Ninja Face Swap, Bike Is Now Called Yamasaki.

In a surprising turn of events, a custom garage in the U.S. has taken on the challenge of modifying a Yamaha XS750. Classified Moto, a Virginia-based crew, has transformed this bike into something truly extreme, earning it the new name of Yamasaki. This name is not a tribute to Honda Aircraft CEO Hideto Yamasaki, but rather a combination of the original Yamaha XS750 and parts from a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.

The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is a street-track machine that is still being produced today, with a starting price of $11,399. It is unclear what condition the 2005 example was in or what happened to the remaining parts after they were transplanted onto the Yamaha bike. However, it is worth noting that the Yamasaki’s front end, including the wheel and brakes, is sourced from the 2005 Kawasaki, while the rest of the bike remains Yamaha. The rear wheel, for instance, comes from a Yamaha XS850.

To create this unique custom bike, the XS750 was stripped down to its bare bones, revealing the stock engine and a slightly modified exhaust system. The engine’s power is transferred to the ground through Kenda rubber in the front and Bridgestone rubber in the rear. The transformation of the Yamasaki was not an easy task, as it required addressing issues such as seized carbs, a malfunctioning charging system, and stuck brakes.

The customization process for the Yamasaki comes at a cost of at least $21,000, which is the usual price charged by Classified Moto for such conversions. However, it is important to note that the bike is currently listed as a special project and is not available for sale. This unique creation has certainly captured the attention of motorcycle enthusiasts, showcasing the talent and creativity of the Classified Moto crew.
