In a shocking turn of events, a 1970 Chevrolet K5 Blazer recently sold for a staggering $165,000 at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. To put this exorbitant price into perspective, it is equivalent to purchasing 4.6 entry-level Dodge Chargers or 1.7 SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreaks. With that kind of money, one could even buy three Scat Packs and still have enough left over to treat the entire neighborhood to gelato.

This particular Blazer is far from its original form, as it underwent a meticulous frame-off build that took a whopping 1,500 hours to complete. The result is a stunning vehicle that stands out in a crowd with its vibrant orange paint job, complemented by contrasting white pillars and roof.

Not only does the exterior impress, but the Blazer also boasts significant upgrades under the hood. Gone are the original engines, replaced by a powerful LS3 engine that generates an impressive 430 horsepower. Paired with a 4L75E automatic overdrive transmission and the SUV’s original transfer case, this Blazer is a force to be reckoned with on the road. To top it off, a stainless-steel exhaust system ensures efficient fuel burn and minimizes harmful emissions.

While the individuals responsible for this remarkable transformation remain unknown, their craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident. The Blazer retains the iconic lines of its first-generation predecessors, capturing the essence of a beloved era. With its striking appearance and powerful performance, it’s no wonder this Blazer will be remembered for years to come.

In a jaw-dropping display of power, this vintage SUV has been transformed into a force to be reckoned with. The engine’s raw energy is harnessed by Mickey Thompson wheels and Goodyear tires, propelling this beast forward with unstoppable force. And to ensure maximum stopping power, a Hydro-Vac brake booster system has been added, working in perfect harmony with the disc brakes.

But it’s not just the performance upgrades that make this SUV stand out. The aggressive stance is accentuated by a 4-inch lift, giving onlookers a glimpse of the impressive suspension system. With Fox shocks and leaf springs boasting an impressive 11 leaves per spring, this ride offers a smooth and comfortable experience.

But the enhancements don’t stop there. The Blazer has been outfitted with a range of additional features that were not part of its original design. Power steps make getting in and out a breeze, while a steel roll bar provides added safety and style. And for those who crave open-air freedom, a removable hardtop is also included. LED lights at the front and rear ensure maximum visibility, day or night.

Inside the SUV, the upgrades continue. The instrument cluster proudly displays the Dakota Digital brand, adding a touch of modernity to the vintage charm. The dashboard also features a reproduction AM/FM stereo, allowing occupants to enjoy their favorite tunes. While the upholstery has been refreshed, the overall interior has been left largely untouched, preserving its original character.

With its timeless appeal and impressive modifications, this bowtie SUV is commanding a price that rivals that of brand-new muscle cars. And for one lucky buyer, the investment is well worth it. Whether they choose to cherish this remarkable build or sell it for a profit, one thing is certain – this Blazer is bound to turn heads wherever it goes.
