Farfus: Recklessness of Hypercars must be addressed.

Augusto Farfus, from the WRT BMW M4 team, raises concerns about the reckless driving of Hypercar drivers. The WRT team suffered the loss of both their LMGT3 cars due to collisions with Hypercars. The first retirement occurred when Rene Rast, driver of the WRT BMW M Hybrid #20, made contact with Phil Hanson’s JOTA Porsche #38, causing significant damage to the front of the BMW #46 and forcing it into the barrier. The second incident was even more dramatic, when Cadillac #2 driver Earl Bamber got involved in an intense battle for second place with Proton’s Porsche 963 driver Neel Jani. While trying to overtake Sean Gelael in the BMW #31, Bamber collided with the LMGT3 car, resulting in a crash that spread debris across the track and required extensive repairs to the barriers. The race had to be stopped for over an hour and a half due to this incident. Farfus expressed his disappointment with the retirement of his car and emphasized the need for action to address these issues. Vincent Vosse, CEO of the WRT team, also expressed his frustration with the loss of BMWs #31 and #46, highlighting that the drivers were not to blame for these incidents. The team now looks ahead to the next edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where they aim to recover the points lost in this race.
