Jorge Martin emerged as the dominant force in the MotoGP sprint race at the French Grand Prix, riding his Pramac Ducati to victory and further extending his lead in the championship. Francesco Bagnaia faced a challenging start as his bike didn’t stabilize, causing him to initially drop to 15th place. However, a technical issue ultimately forced the reigning champion to run off track at turn 7 and retire from the race.
Aleix Espargaro’s premature start resulted in a two-lap penalty, effectively eliminating his chances of a podium finish. Meanwhile, Marc Marquez made an impressive leap from 13th on the grid to fifth place by the end of the first lap. With an overtake on Maverick Vinales and Espargaro’s penalty, Marquez quickly secured a spot in the podium positions.
Vinales managed to hold onto his podium position, fending off Enea Bastianini on the factory Ducati, who ultimately settled for fourth place after progressing from a lower starting position. Pedro Acosta secured a comfortable sixth place, engaging in a battle with teammate Jack Miller early in the race, with Miller finishing in eighth place.
Both VR46 riders, Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio, had a promising start to their race. Bezzecchi held onto second place and gradually closed the gap to Jorge Martin. However, with just a few laps to go, Bezzecchi unfortunately crashed at turn 10. Di Giannantonio, on the other hand, managed to score points by maintaining a steady pace and getting more familiar with his Ducati, finishing in seventh place.
Raul Fernandez et Miguel Oliveira ont capitalisé sur leurs résultats respectables en qualification, Fernandez terminant neuvième et Oliveira onzième. Fernandez a réussi à se défendre contre Fabio Quartararo, qui a eu une course difficile et a terminé dixième. Le coéquipier de Quartararo, Alex Rins, a eu une course encore plus difficile, car il est tombé en course.
Malgré avoir montré un rythme prometteur en qualification, Franco Morbidelli a eu des difficultés pendant la course et a terminé 12ème, quelques secondes derrière Oliveira. Johann Zarco a mené le chemin pour Honda avec sa 13ème place, montrant une amélioration générale de son rythme tout en luttant avec Morbidelli et Alex Marquez, qui a terminé un rang derrière en 14ème position.
Brad Binder a eu du mal à remonter depuis la fin de la grille, terminant 15ème et se retrouvant dans une zone intermédiaire, quelques secondes devant les pilotes derrière lui, mais incapable de réduire l’écart avec le peloton de tête.
Takaaki Nakagami s’est contenté de la 16ème place, continuant une période difficile à la fois pour le pilote japonais et pour le constructeur. Joan Mir est tombé de la course, tandis que Luca Marini était seul, à 27 secondes des leaders.
