Erik Jones, piloto de Jimmie Johnson, declara estar totalmente recuperado após perder duas corridas devido a lesão.

Erik Jones is excited about his return to NASCAR. The upcoming Darlington throwback race will mark his return to the Cup box with the number 43 Toyota Camry. He was unable to participate in the last two races at Dover and Kansas Speedway due to a serious injury he suffered at Talladega. A poorly executed draft maneuver among all the Toyotas resulted in an accident involving Jones and several other drivers.

During his absence, Tricon Garage driver filled in for Jones in the two races. The Truck Series champion delivered impressive performances with the team and is now ready to make a part-time entry with 23XI Racing. Darlington is a favorable track for Jones, as he has won races there twice before.

Prior to his return this weekend, Erik Jones expressed that he feels fully recovered from his back injury. He attributed his improved condition to the two weeks of proper rest he had. Although he felt fine before the race in Kansas, the decision was made to postpone his return to the Cup due to persistent pain until Friday.

Jones mentioned that during his time off the track, he had several consultations and worked to get medical clearance to race as soon as possible. He also engaged in physical therapy, which included gym exercises.

To ensure he is back at 100%, the former JGR driver has already completed simulation tests. He is looking forward to the practice session before the race to regain his familiarity with the car. On Sunday, he aims to challenge for success on the track.
