Marc Marquez, the renowned MotoGP rider, expressed his perplexity about the difficulties he faced during the practices at the French Grand Prix. Reflecting on his difficulties, Marquez admitted: “I am struggling because I am putting too much pressure on the front of the bike, which prevents me from feeling the rear. Therefore, it is crucial for us to understand how to improve our rear grip.” Marquez’s crash during FP2 was a result of his relentless pursuit to push his bike to the limits. He confessed: “Today’s crash was a consequence of my aggressive riding style. I couldn’t maintain smoothness and precision in my lines, which caused me to lean too much.” Despite his disappointment, Marquez acknowledged that setbacks can happen even to experienced riders like him. He emphasized the importance of analyzing his weaknesses and formulating a strategy to overcome them. Marquez made adjustments to his bike’s setup during FP1, resulting in faster lap times, but on a less stable Ducati. Reflecting on this, he shared: “There was a noticeable difference compared to this morning’s session. We tried a new approach, but now we have some uncertainties that we need to resolve. Perhaps we need to reassess our decisions and gain a better understanding for tomorrow.” Marquez’s teammate, Alex Marquez, also faced difficulties and failed to advance to Q2. Finishing his session in 19th place, over a second behind Martin, Alex Marquez recognized the need for a strong comeback to overcome his difficulties. He acknowledged that other riders faced similar challenges on Fridays, but managed to bounce back successfully, and now it’s their turn to do the same.
