The most anticipated moment of the year for Portuguese rally fans is here. The Rally de Portugal takes place between this Thursday and Sunday, bringing the World Rally Championship (WRC) to the country.

It is the fifth round of the season (second on dirt), with Thierry Neuville leading the championship. The Belgian from Hyundai has always been in the top five so far and has six more points than Elfyn Evans (Toyota). Adrien Fourmaux (M-Sport Ford) had his worst result of the year in Croatia, looking to get back on track as he is third, 27 points behind the top.

Ott Tänak (Hyundai) is on an upward trajectory and is fourth in the championship, now aiming for his first podium in this return to the South Korean manufacturer. Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) is making his second consecutive appearance after winning in Croatia, currently fifth in the standings.

Also returning to action in Portugal in search of a second consecutive victory is Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota), this time after last competing in the Safari Rally Kenya. And another illustrious name to watch for is Dani Sordo (Hyundai), in what will be his first participation in 2024.
