Horner nega cláusula de contrato de Verstappen ligada a Newey em meio a rumores de saída.

In the realm of the Verstappen agreement associated with Dr. Helmut Marko, Horner firmly denied the existence of a clause linked to Newey.

The imminent departure of the team’s technical director in early 2025 has generated speculation in the F1 paddock about Verstappen’s future, despite his current contract running until the end of 2028.

Although there is a known termination clause in Verstappen’s agreement related to Dr. Helmut Marko, Horner denied the existence of a similar clause associated with Newey.

“Max’s contract will remain confidential, but there are no clauses connecting Adrian [Newey] to Max [Verstappen] in any way,” said the Red Bull team principal in an interview with Sky Sports F1.

“They have maintained a solid relationship over the years, just like our previous drivers.

“However, Max understands the intentional planning behind this transition; it is not impulsive.

“The structure remains unchanged with Adrian’s reduced involvement.”

The uncertainty surrounding Newey’s departure, along with existing rumors about internal dynamics at Red Bull, has allegedly left Verstappen’s camp uncertain about his loyalty to the Milton Keynes-based team.

Speculation about Verstappen’s future arose early in the season, amid internal power struggles at Red Bull, a situation believed to have influenced Newey’s resignation.

Previous suggestions indicated tensions between Verstappen’s management team, including his father Jos, and Horner.

The turbulence resulting from the now-dismissed accusations against Horner fueled such speculations.

In recent weeks, rumors related to Verstappen have surfaced, with Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff seemingly adding fuel to the fire of discontent.

The announcement of Newey’s imminent departure has further intensified the situation, leading to recent reports of a supposed €150 million deal being offered to the Dutch driver.

Horner sarcastically responded to the latest speculations, stating: “You report these rumors every week, but he’s still here.”

“Max is content within the team; he is surrounded by an exceptional group of engineers and has an exceptional car – the leading car on the track.

“He is delivering the best performance of his career.”

“It’s not about contracts; it’s about satisfaction, a feeling shared by any driver.

“He has that satisfaction, that harmony around him.

“What you witness is a driver thriving in that environment.”
