SU7: primeiro elétrico da Xiaomi chega em 2024 com autonomia até 800 km

After smartphones, Xiaomi is betting on electric cars with the SU7, a model that, despite only being commercialized in China, is already a true success.

The Chinese brand says the success of its 100% electric model has led to receiving over 75,000 reservation orders for the sedan, prompting the construction of a new factory on the outskirts of Beijing to meet the high number of orders.

Being a technology company, it is not surprising that the factory where Xiaomi produces the SU7 has high levels of robotization, with robots tasked with performing demanding tasks such as hyperfusion, stamping parts, welding, painting, and verifying each piece used in the production of Xiaomi’s 100% electric model.

As a result, and as Xiaomi reveals in a video shared on social media, the brand achieves a highly efficient production, allowing it to assemble a unit of the SU7 every 76 seconds.

While the video does not show the assembly of the interior of Xiaomi’s model, where the hands of the brand’s workers certainly play a crucial role, the level of efficiency in the production of the model will undoubtedly enable Xiaomi to achieve the goal of delivering 100,000 units of the SU7 by the end of the year.

Recall that by April, just over a month after the launch of the Xiaomi model in the Chinese market, the brand reached 10,000 units produced of the SU7.

The 100% electric sedan presented in December 2023 is based on Xiaomi’s Modena platform, which was designed to support 400-volt and 800-volt electric architectures, as well as transmission systems with one or two motors.

Equipped with electric motors developed internally by Xiaomi, the SU7 is available, for now only in the Chinese market, in two versions, the entry-level with an electric motor installed on the rear axle, with a power of 300 hp and a torque of 400 Nm, powered by a 73.6 kWh battery, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.28 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 210 km/h, with a range of 628 km to 668 km in CLTC cycle.

The most powerful version is the SU7 Max, which uses two electric motors, one per axle, with all-wheel drive, with a total power of 645 hp and a torque of 838 Nm, which uses a 101 kWh battery supplied by CATL, allowing a range of up to 800 km, as well as accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 265 km/h.
