Horner responds to Wolff: Red Bull hires 220 employees from Mercedes F1.

He revealed that Red Bull has hired 220 members from Mercedes, contradicting speculation of a mass exodus from his team. McLaren CEO Zak Brown further fueled rumors by stating they received resumes from Red Bull affiliates after the announcement of design guru Adrian Newey’s departure in 2025. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff agreed with Brown, acknowledging an increase in people looking to leave Red Bull. However, Horner believes Wolff should focus on Mercedes’ struggles on the track rather than personnel issues. He expressed confidence in the strength and depth of his team, highlighting the 200 employees hired from Mercedes for the Red Bull Powertrains division. Horner downplayed the significance of some resumes and emphasized the importance of the 220 people who joined Red Bull Powertrains from HPP. As for speculation about Sporting Director Jonathan Wheatley’s possible departure, Horner refused to comment on any contractual discussions as they are not publicly disclosed by Red Bull.
