Ford will end production of the Focus in 2025.

Focus ST Edition é o modelo mais completo de sempre da Ford
After ending production of the Fiesta, Ford has now announced that it will not extend the lifecycle of the Focus, and the model will cease production in mid-2025. Despite the decline in demand for electric vehicles globally, the American brand had already announced in 2022 the closure of its production line in Saarlouis, Germany, where the Focus is produced. Now Martin Sander, Ford’s general manager in Europe, revealed to “Autocar” that the company has “no plans to expand Focus production,” despite adjusting sales forecasts due to the “slowing demand for electric vehicles.” Nevertheless, Ford remains committed to its journey towards electric mobility. “In the long term, we are still deeply convinced that electric vehicles are the future and we will see a significant increase in volume,” added Martin Sander. By the end of this year, we will have a full range of electric vehicles – both in the passenger vehicle sector and also in our commercial vehicle business – and we will be very flexible to adapt to market demand,” concluded Ford’s general manager in Europe. It is worth noting that Ford recently announced that it will delay the launch of new electric vehicles, including a pick-up and an SUV.

Despite the delay allowing the American brand more time to develop new models, it will provide resources that will be directed towards hybrid technology, as Ford aims to offer hybrid engines across its entire range in North America by the end of the decade.
