Jos Verstappen fala sobre a possibilidade de Adrian Newey sair da Red Bull e o futuro de Max Verstappen.

Jos Verstappen shared his belief in Max’s current situation, but also recognizes the importance of preparing for what is to come.

Max Verstappen’s father, Jos Verstappen, broke his silence regarding the possible departure of Adrian Newey, Red Bull’s chief technology officer. Reports indicate that the 65-year-old design leader may part ways with the team before the end of his contract due to internal power struggles.

Jos Verstappen had previously expressed concerns about the turbulence within Red Bull, calling for the removal of team principal Christian Horner amid allegations of misconduct. However, Horner was later cleared after an internal investigation. While an appeal is ongoing, this controversy has overshadowed Red Bull’s season despite their continued dominance. Max Verstappen is on the verge of securing his fourth consecutive world title.

The imminent departure of Adrian Newey, who played a crucial role in designing the cars that led to Verstappen’s victories, has raised concerns about the team’s future. Jos Verstappen acknowledges the importance of Newey’s talent and expresses concern about the potential loss to Red Bull.

In an interview with Racexpress, Jos Verstappen refrains from speculating on the situation, emphasizing that his knowledge is limited to Newey’s existing contract with Red Bull until 2025. He praises Newey’s achievements and expertise, recognizing his invaluable contributions to the team.

Regarding Max Verstappen’s future, Jos Verstappen reveals that despite having a contract with Red Bull until 2028, they are considering all options. Max Verstappen remains focused on the performance of his car, stating that this will determine his decisions.

However, Jos Verstappen recognizes the need to evaluate other teams, especially in light of the regulatory changes expected for 2026, which are likely to benefit competitors such as Mercedes and Ferrari.

Jos Verstappen expresses confidence in Max’s current position, but also acknowledges the importance of planning for the future. By recognizing the interest of other teams in Max, Jos Verstappen emphasizes the need to remain calm and assess all possibilities as events unfold.
