If you plan to refuel your car, it’s best to wait a few more days as fuel prices are set to drop again next Monday, which if confirmed will be the second consecutive week of falling gasoline and diesel prices.
According to calculations by “ECO“, next Monday, May 6, the price of regular gasoline is expected to drop by 2.5 cents per liter to an average price of €1.783 per liter.
As for regular diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal, it is expected to drop by 2 cents per liter to €1.57.
The specialized publication in economic matters mentions that these prices already take into account the discounts applied by fuel companies and the revision of temporary fiscal measures to help mitigate the increase in fuel prices. The tax reduction determined by the currently in place measures is 25 cents per liter of diesel and 26 cents per liter of gasoline.
