Top Alpine boss fired argues that F1 cannot remove Max Verstappen despite his growing control in the sport.

Alto chefe da Alpine demitido argumenta que F1 não pode remover Max Verstappen apesar de seu crescente controle no esporte.

Max Verstappen has been dominating Formula 1 since the beginning of the 2022 season. The former head of the Alpine team stated that it is impossible for F1 to eliminate Verstappen. The Red Bull ace has consistently achieved victories, except in the Australian GP, and shows no signs of slowing down.

According to Otmar Szafnauer, the Netflix program about F1 has attracted a significant number of new fans, and losing Verstappen would result in losing them as well. Verstappen currently holds the top spot in the standings after his impressive win in Shanghai. Szafnauer, who recently left Alpine, is now promoting his EventR app.

During a recent interview with the press, Szafnauer expressed his thoughts. He believes that, due to the unpredictable nature of F1, it may be challenging for Verstappen to remain champion indefinitely. However, Verstappen’s remarkable potential should be recognized and celebrated. With three championships already won, Verstappen is determined to secure a fourth title, which seems highly likely given his speed and brilliance.

Szafnauer also believes that there is a young driver on the grid who could challenge Verstappen. He truly believes that Verstappen’s close friend has the ability to compete with him in the near future.

Regarding this issue, Szafnauer added the following. The British driver himself has previously admitted that he is not afraid to face Verstappen, but recognizes the difficulty of the task. Norris stated that he greatly enjoys his battles with the 26-year-old driver, but currently it would not be a wise decision to challenge him. Norris experienced a rollercoaster of emotions in Shanghai, but ultimately things worked out as he secured second place in the Chinese GP, finishing just behind Verstappen. The next race on the calendar is the Miami GP, and the McLaren driver hopes to replicate his success in Shanghai.
