Flecha McLaren dispensa Malukas devido a lesão na mão persistente.

Arrow McLaren announced on Monday that David Malukas has been released from the IndyCar team due to his extended recovery period. The 22-year-old driver injured his wrist in a mountain bike accident in February and was initially expected to return to racing after six weeks. However, his recovery has been slower than expected, causing him to miss all races of the current season. Despite recently having the pins removed from his hand, Malukas has expressed doubts about his readiness to compete in the Sonsio Grand Prix in two weeks at the IMS road course. Malukas expressed gratitude for the opportunity to drive for Arrow McLaren and his disappointment that it didn’t work out. Now, he is focused on fully recovering and proving his ability to compete at a high level. Callum Ilott and Theo Pourchaire have been called in as substitutes for Malukas in car #6 for the first part of the year, while the team looks for a more stable arrangement for the future. The team is also concerned about the upcoming Indianapolis 500 and is working to secure a solid replacement for Malukas. As for Malukas, he is now without a contract for his third season in IndyCar and has missed the opportunity to showcase his skills with one of the top teams in the paddock. Arrow McLaren is expected to announce a full-time replacement for Malukas next week.
