Helmut Marko critica Mercedes W15 como um sucesso temporário em meio a um terrível início de 2024.

Mercedes has only accumulated 52 points in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship, which is a disappointing start for the team under the current F1 regulations. After their unsuccessful campaign in 2023, Mercedes had hoped to turn things around, but unfortunately, the situation has worsened. This fact has caught the attention of several respected individuals, including the Red Bull team advisor. He believes that the performance of the Mercedes W15 is far from consistent enough to achieve successful results in F1. In the 2024 Constructors’ standings, the team led by Mercedes managed to gather only 52 points. The experienced octogenarian emphasized that the W15 showed great speed on some occasions, but also fell short of expectations on other occasions. There is a widespread belief in the paddock that the 2024 challenger of the Brackley-based team has a fundamental flaw that cannot be corrected. Despite the current difficulties, it is surprising to Marko that Mercedes has not been able to reach the same level of dominance it had during the turbo-hybrid era. During that period, no other team came close to the success Mercedes achieved, including eight consecutive constructors’ world championships and several drivers’ titles. With the new F1 regulations approaching in 2026, it is possible that Mercedes will finally break free from its current situation and make a strong comeback in the championship battle.
