With two Cup wins and six truck race wins, he is the most successful African American driver in the sport. Wallace has been instrumental in implementing changes, including the controversial decision to ban the Confederate flag.
During a recent interview, Wallace addressed the issue of fans booing him and discussed the shift in diversity within the sport. He acknowledged that while he remains the only black elite driver, there is now greater diversity behind the scenes, with more people from different backgrounds working as team members and in other roles.
The United States Air Force will sponsor Bubba Wallace, and their partnership will be featured in the upcoming race at Dover. Wallace highlighted the new Flying Tiger paint scheme for this week’s race, which pays tribute to the old Warhawk scheme.
Although the 2024 season has been consistent for Bubba Wallace, he has yet to win a race since the Kansas playoffs race in 2022. To secure a spot in the playoffs this season, Wallace will need to improve his execution and elevate his performance. The race at Dover may present him with an opportunity to do so.
