MG EXE181: hiperdesportivo elétrico inspirado no modelo de 1959

MG surprised its fans by revealing the EXE181, an electric hypercar that the brand will present this week at the Beijing Auto Show in China.

The concept inspired by the classic MG that set the land speed record in the 1950s features enhanced aerodynamics, with a coefficient of 0.181 cd, and is equipped with four electric motors, allowing for a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 1.9 seconds.

The images revealed on social media by the SAIC Design Advanced design studio in London show that the fully electric EXE181 has a “long tail” shape with pronounced wheel arches, futuristic rims, and a front marked by generous air intakes, while at the rear, two parachutes stand out that serve to stop this MG “torpedo.” The interior of this futuristic hypercar features a central driving position, a “yoke” type steering wheel with an integrated screen, as well as a sports seat equipped with a four-point seatbelt. Naturally, MG did not reveal details about the performance of this EXE181 concept; however, it is expected that this hypercar will have high power, with everything pointing to this model being capable of attempting to break the record, just like the EX181 which in 1959 recorded 410 km/h with Phil Hill at the wheel.

The electric EXE181 will be unveiled tomorrow at the Beijing Auto Show, possibly making an appearance in July at the Goodwood Festival in the UK, as part of the MG centenary celebrations.
