After revealing the name of the first pick-up, Kia has now shown the prototype of the new model with camouflage inspired by Australia.
The camouflage design that will “dress” the Kia pick-up until its presentation was developed by artist Richard Boyd-Dunlop, and reinforces the adventurous look of the model set to launch in 2025.
“The Tasman pick-up embodies Kia’s commitment to design and innovation, as well as its spirit of adventure. Artist Richard Boyd-Dunlop created a unique camouflage design, with the support of Kia’s design team, that portrays a journey and reflects the unique adventure essence of the Tasman,” highlighted Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design.
The new model, which is undergoing the usual tests before launch, features a square image dominated by many straight lines and sharp edges. Additionally, it will come equipped with vertical LED daytime running lights, similar to those of the Sorento and EV9.
Developed as a direct competitor to the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, and Isuzu D-Max, the Kia Tasman is expected to come with all-wheel drive and everything points to it using a 2.2-liter CRDi four-cylinder engine from the brand.
Kia believes that with the Tasman, it will redefine the concept of a pick-up and allow for a dynamic lifestyle 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, catering to various personal and leisure activities of its users.
