Helmut Marko considera parceria entre Red Bull e Max Verstappen com Lando Norris.

Lando Norris is one of the many individuals rumored to be under consideration for the highly sought-after position at Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen. Images of Lando Norris and Max Verstappen, along with Helmut Marko, have been circulating (images via IMAGO).

Red Bull has consistently displayed strong performance since the start of the 2024 season. They have consistently achieved high scores without significant errors. However, Perez’s performance will be closely examined as his contract comes to an end this season. Therefore, when discussing possible replacements, there is interest in securing the services of certain individuals.

There are several drivers rumored to be under consideration for the coveted position at Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen. One of the top candidates to replace the current driver is Lando Norris. In relation to this matter, there has been mention of interest from certain parties.

Marko emphasized that Norris, being young, is a focal point for Red Bull and a potential acquisition. Additionally, Marko recalled a humorous interaction with Norris’s father about celebrating Norris’s first victory. The joke revolved around the idea that Norris would only celebrate a Grand Prix win when Max Verstappen retired from the sport. Despite this, the octogenarian advised Norris to join Red Bull, highlighting the faster speed of their car and needling the slower speed of McLaren.

Helmut Marko has been keeping an eye on young talents in the world of Formula 1 to work alongside Verstappen. However, such discussions are only relevant if Perez does not perform well. Recently, there have been denials of rumors about the possible removal of the 34-year-old driver from the team. Amidst this, Marko has expressed interest in acquiring another individual to join Norris.

The octogenarian emphasized that both drivers currently have long-term contracts with McLaren. Norris and Piastri are committed to Woking until the end of the 2026 season. Therefore, it would not be possible to acquire them for a short-term contract. However, Marko acknowledged that both options are intriguing for Milton Keynes in the future.

The team in the distinctive papaya color has shown promising form in its competition with Red Bull throughout the season. McLaren is closely following Ferrari in third place and providing strong competition for the Italian constructor. The team will continue to update its challenger to potentially reduce the gap with the teams ahead. McLaren has not made significant errors so far and has had a smooth campaign.
