Ford has strengthened the offer of the Mustang Mach-E in Europe with the launch of a new special version, the Mach-E GT California Special, while also introducing minor improvements across the range of the electric SUV.
Special edition focuses on style, not performance
Two years after its arrival in the European market, the Mustang Mach-E has sold around 90,000 units on the continent. In an effort to enhance the model’s appeal, the American brand is now focusing on a California-inspired edition.
The designation California Special dates back to 1968 and serves as a tribute to the California dealers who boosted sales of the original Mustang. However, in this new electric version, the approach is primarily centered on aesthetics, with no changes in performance.

Exclusive elements on the exterior and interior
The Mach-E GT California Special stands out with specific visual details, including accents in Rave Blue, a stripe on the hood with the designation “California Special,” and graphics inspired by the California coast. The 20-inch wheels in Carbonized Grey also feature the GT/CS logo.
Inside, the highlight is the Navy Pier tone upholstery, with reflective blue and silver details. This material, called ActiveX, is also applied to the center console and the steering wheel, reinforcing the visual identity of the special edition.

Enhanced range and new technologies in the lineup
In addition to the new version, Ford has introduced technical improvements across the rest of the Mustang Mach-E lineup. The Premium Extended Range versions now feature lower rolling resistance tires, allowing for increased range.
In the all-wheel drive variants, the range increases to 555 km, while in the rear-wheel drive versions it rises to 615 km.
Another new feature is the standard inclusion of the Clear Exit Assist system across the lineup. This technology detects the approach of cyclists, scooters, or pedestrians from behind and alerts the occupants before opening the doors, helping to prevent accidents.
New colors and market positioning
The lineup will also offer two new exterior colors: Race Red and Adriatic Blue-Green, available in all versions of the model.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT California Special is now available in some European markets, with prices starting at around 46,000 euros.
