Sergio Pérez believes Cadillac will score points before summer break: a game-changing outlook

Sergio Pérez Sees Points on the Horizon for Cadillac Before Summer Break

In a bold statement that has ignited enthusiasm among Formula 1 fans, Sergio Pérez has declared his confidence in Cadillac's potential to achieve consistent progress before the summer break. This pivotal moment in the racing calendar could serve as a crucial benchmark for evaluating the evolution of the American team, which has officially joined the grid after years of determination and planning.

Cadillac's entry into the world of Formula 1 is nothing short of monumental. Unlike Audi, which has the advantage of an existing structure through Sauber, Cadillac has built its project from the ground up. This ambitious venture, based in Silverstone, has already made a significant impact, with Pérez finishing the season's opening race in Australia, waving the checkered flag, while his teammate Valtteri Bottas unfortunately faced an early retirement.

Despite being a newcomer, Cadillac has faced the harsh realities of competition, often finding itself at the back of the pack. Yet, Pérez is optimistic about the team's ability to rapidly improve throughout the season, particularly with enhancements to their MAC-26 car. “I hope that by the summer break, we will have managed to score some points. We know it’s a tough task given the current gap, but this team is new and fundamentally different from others that have recently arrived in Formula 1,” the Mexican driver expressed to several media outlets, including Motorsport Week.

One of the immediate challenges for Cadillac lies in resolving reliability and construction issues with their vehicle. In the initial races of the season, including the sprint in Shanghai, there were reports of bodywork components detaching during the competition—an issue the team is eager to rectify quickly.

With the new regulatory cycle still in its early stages, Cadillac is poised to leverage the natural evolution of its project to gradually close the gap to the midfield contenders. This strategy is not merely about immediate results; it is about laying a robust foundation for future seasons, with aspirations aimed squarely at 2027.

As the racing world watches closely, can Cadillac overcome early hurdles and secure its place among F1’s elite? The countdown to the summer break is on, and all eyes will be on Pérez and his team to see if they can turn potential into performance.
