Kyle Petty prevê um confronto entre Chase Elliott e o “principal concorrente” William Byron em 2024.

Kyle Petty anticipates a fierce championship competition among teammates. William Byron, Kyle Petty, and Chase Elliott celebrate their success at Texas Motor Speedway.

Chase Elliott finally ended his 42-race winless streak last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. Heading into the 2024 season, he was under immense pressure to break his streak and secure a spot in the playoffs after missing out last year. The driver of the Chevy No:9 has now secured his spot in the playoffs and is ready to challenge for the championship alongside his teammates.

His main championship rivals will be his own teammates at HMS. These two drivers have already achieved notable success in the Next-Gen era, with one and three wins, respectively. Byron, in particular, has been exceptional, winning nine races since the start of the 2022 season.

According to former NASCAR driver Kyle Petty, Chase Elliott’s inclusion in the competition could lead to a battle between the No:9 and No:24 Chevy teams. Petty also predicts that the 2020 Champion will have more wins this season, setting the stage for multiple showdowns between them.

During the race at [location], JGR drivers and Chase Elliott were involved in an incident. Petty discussed the situation and analyzed how a change in approach led to the accident. He pointed out that Toyota No:11 tried a defensive strategy against No:24, who was on the offensive.

The incident ruined Hamlin’s race, as he had one of the fastest cars of the day and was a strong contender for victory, just like Elliott. However, this would not be the last showdown between the two drivers in 2024, as they are expected to have many battles throughout the remainder of the season.
