Honda mira meta desafiadora de conquistar campeonato da F1 com Aston Martin em 2026.

Honda has agreed to provide Aston Martin with its power unit from the 2026 season, in an effort to help the Silverstone team compete for the Formula 1 World Championship. President Lawrence Stroll is determined to elevate Silverstone to a front-running team in the coming years and has secured an exclusive deal with Honda for power units from 2026. The engine manufacturer has set ambitious goals for the constructor.

The President of Honda Racing Corporation was asked about his ambitions with Aston Martin after the power unit supply agreement. The Japanese executive stated that their goal was to win the world championship in 2026. However, he acknowledged that this would be a challenging task for the constructor. Nevertheless, Honda believed that setting high goals would motivate them to give their best alongside Silverstone.

Honda discussed their goals with Aston Martin and the CEO and President of Honda. Both parties acknowledged that achieving these objectives would not be easy. The engine manufacturer recognized that there was something missing in their current setup. As a result, open communication and collaboration were emphasized to address and overcome any obstacles.

Several teams expressed interest in securing a deal with Honda for power units from 2026. However, Aston Martin stood out to Honda due to their strong passion and leadership, especially from Lawrence Stroll. Additionally, Honda was impressed with Aston Martin’s state-of-the-art factory in Silverstone. After visiting the facilities and meeting with Aston Martin’s leadership, Honda decided to finalize a deal with the team.

The combination of Aston Martin’s current performance and Honda’s reliability is expected to generate positive results for the team. Silverstone is currently in a tight battle with Mercedes for fifth place in the constructors’ championship. The team’s focus is on continuous development and avoiding any setbacks similar to the previous season.
