Ex-campeão de Fórmula 1 prevê que Audi não terá sucesso imediato na Fórmula 1.

There has been a lot of talk about Audi’s imminent debut in the premier category of motorsport in 2026. Audi has officially confirmed its entry into Formula 1 for the 2026 season, sparking various discussions about whether the German manufacturer will be a competitive team from the start or if they will face challenges in their quest for glory. Additionally, a former Formula 1 world champion shared his thoughts on what the future may hold for Audi in the sport.

Audi has a rich history of involvement in various forms of motorsport. To further expand their ventures in motorsport, the German manufacturer decided to join Formula 1 in 2026, coinciding with the introduction of new regulations. It is worth noting that Audi chose to acquire Sauber entirely, instead of initially planning for a 75% stake.

However, with this announcement also come some important questions, which were addressed by Jacques Villeneuve. The former Formula 1 champion expressed concerns about Audi taking over a team that has been struggling at the back of the grid in recent years. He compared this to the current state of another team, highlighting how they have lost their appeal over time and are undergoing a challenging rebuilding process. As a result, Villeneuve warned Audi not to have overly high expectations from the start, emphasizing that building a competitive team takes time and effort.

In recent years, Formula 1 and the FIA have actively encouraged major automotive brands to join the sport and make their mark on the grid. However, the entry of these big names can bring a new set of challenges. Villeneuve highlighted the potential dangers that the sport may face with the arrival of these renowned manufacturers. He pointed out that, when these big names enter the sport, they also have the option to leave if they feel that their investment is not yielding the desired results, as was the case with Toyota. Formula One Management (FOM) has always maintained a strict approach when it comes to new teams entering the grid. However, considering the rapid evolution of Formula 1, it will be intriguing to see what the future holds for the sport.
