Horner: Red Bull enfrenta desafios com desenvolvimento de motor de F1.

The Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner, acknowledged that the team is facing a significant learning process regarding building a Formula 1 engine for the 2026 season. However, he ensures that they are meeting their goals. This challenge arose after Honda announced its exit from the sport at the end of 2021, leading Red Bull to establish a Powertrains division in preparation for the upcoming regulatory changes in F1. In this endeavor, Red Bull is collaborating with Ford, an American automotive giant returning to the sport after a hiatus since 2004. Despite speculations about the team’s progress, Horner emphasizes that they are not falling behind internal expectations. He explains that while being a new power unit manufacturer presents challenges, the team is fully committed and exceeding expectations. Red Bull’s facilities, including testing and development areas, as well as manufacturing capabilities, are fully equipped. However, Horner acknowledges that two years in the world of engines is a relatively short period, and they are currently on a steep learning curve, but they are where they expected to be at this stage.

In the world of Formula 1, there have been speculations that Mercedes has gained an advantage over other engine manufacturers, leaving Red Bull and Ferrari behind. However, the claims of Red Bull’s advisor, Helmut Marko, are met with uncertainty, as Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner, emphasizes that his team is still on track to achieve their goals. Horner recognizes the challenge of comparing their progress with that of their competitors but ensures that tremendous effort is being made in their preparations for the upcoming season. With the start of 2026 rapidly approaching, time is of the essence for Red Bull.

Marko’s suggestion that Mercedes is leading the development of next-generation power units has sparked rumors that Max Verstappen could join the team. However, Verstappen dismisses any doubts about Red Bull’s ability to remain a strong contender for championships. He believes it is premature to draw conclusions and expresses confidence in the team’s efforts. Verstappen maintains close communication with Horner and the team, ensuring that everyone is working tirelessly towards their goals. Recognizing the magnitude of the task ahead and the formidable competition they face, Verstappen highlights the talent and enthusiasm within the team. Only time will reveal the outcome of their efforts.
