Ayrton Senna’s Iconic F1 Car Set to Fetch Millions at Auction!

Prepare for a high-octane thrill as one of the most legendary machines in Formula 1 history is about to hit the auction block! Sotheby’s is gearing up to auction off the breathtaking 98T-3, a car that propelled the Brazilian racing icon Ayrton Senna to greatness during his illustrious career.

This stunning piece of motorsport history comes from Senna's third season in F1 and represents his second campaign with the illustrious Team Lotus, where he truly came into his own. Drenched in the striking John Player Special livery, the 98T-3 is not just any race car; it's the very chassis that secured Senna his remarkable victories in the fiercely competitive 1986 season.

In that unforgettable year, Senna showcased his prowess by clinching two monumental wins: one in Detroit and another in Spain at the sensational Jerez circuit. The latter was a nail-biting affair, where he managed to fend off the relentless challenge from Nigel Mansell, crossing the finish line by a breathtakingly narrow margin of just 0.014 seconds—an astonishing moment etched in the annals of F1 history!

But the allure of the 98T-3 doesn't stop there. Under the hood, this marvel boasts a turbocharged 1.5-litre Renault V6 engine, reputed to unleash a staggering 1,200 horsepower in qualifying mode and 900 horsepower during races, revving up to an exhilarating 12,500 rpm. This powerhouse is not just a relic; it’s a beast ready to roar back onto the track!

After being sold by Lotus two years post its glory days, this remarkable car has had a handful of stewards, with its current owners based in Alton, UK, who have meticulously restored it to its former glory alongside the experts at Paul Lanzante Ltd. Now, it's not just a museum piece; it’s primed and ready for action!

Sotheby’s has set a jaw-dropping auction estimate of between $9.5 million and $12 million, which translates to approximately £7 million to £9 million. This isn’t just an auction; it’s a chance to own a slice of F1 history that few will ever experience!

Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the auction of a true racing legend. The bidding war for Ayrton Senna’s 98T-3 promises to be as thrilling as the races it once conquered!
