Pascal Wehrlein expressed that his Tag Heuer Porsche team did not worry about Antonio Felix da Costa’s disqualification at the Misano E-Prix on Saturday. Instead, they focused all their attention on the Sunday race. Wehrlein had a smooth race and secured the victory, taking the lead from Oliver Rowland on the final lap after the Nissan driver ran out of energy.
“We simply reset,” said Wehrlein. “We are aware that yesterday, Antonio won, but I could have also been in that position if it weren’t for the incident. So, the best attitude to take was to give our best possible performance, seek redemption, and focus on the task at hand. We did not let yesterday’s frustration affect us because today presented another opportunity, and we took it. Overall, we know there was more potential this weekend, but we are still satisfied with the result.”
Looking ahead to the next race in Monaco, Wehrlein believes that the Porsche package is in a better position compared to last year. He is confident in the car’s ability to achieve more success on the challenging track.
“Monaco is a different circuit. We did not perform well there last year, so we have some ground to make up. However, we are feeling optimistic overall. Our qualifying has improved, and we have a strong race car. Therefore, I see no reason why we cannot be competitive in Monaco.”
