Flavio Briatore unleashes savage criticism on F1 star in shocking new footage

Flavio Briatore's Ruthless Critique of F1 Prodigy: A Shocking Display of Tough Love

In the high-octane world of Formula 1, where performance reigns supreme, no one is spared from the harsh scrutiny of team bosses—and Flavio Briatore is no exception. The Italian businessman is making waves yet again, this time for his brutal and unapologetic management style showcased in the latest season of the Netflix docuseries, “Drive to Survive.” During a particularly revealing episode titled “Strictly Business,” viewers witnessed Briatore's cold dismissal of young driver Jack Doohan, who was axed after just six races. But the drama didn't end there.

As the cameras rolled, fans were greeted with an unexpected artistic portrayal of Briatore as Che Guevara, a nod perhaps to his revolutionary yet ruthless approach to team management. While some may find this depiction endearing, it's clear that Briatore thrives in the cutthroat environment of F1. “I still enjoy firing people,” he candidly admitted, leaving little room for sympathy among soft parenting advocates.

But who exactly took Doohan's place? Enter Franco Colapinto, another promising talent who faced his own set of challenges. Unfortunately for Colapinto, his debut season was far from stellar; he ended 2025 without scoring a single point, becoming the only driver to do so. However, hope glimmers on the horizon, as an improved Alpine team could provide the young Argentine with a much-needed second chance. Yet, that does not exempt him from Briatore's relentless critique.

The tension escalated during a crisis meeting captured in the same episode. Briatore, flanked by both Colapinto and veteran driver Pierre Gasly, made it abundantly clear that the team needed to step up its game. “We need to understand that we haven’t been that great until now. Let’s say that, between the two of you, Pierre has been better. Now we have to get some points,” he asserted, directing a pointed finger at Colapinto.

In a desperate attempt to contribute, Colapinto suggested, “We can try something on my car.” But Briatore was having none of it. “I don’t give a s***, ok? I decide what I’m doing. I decide. You are the problem; you have to understand. You have to improve your performance. That’s essential,” he shot back, leaving Colapinto visibly rattled.

Interestingly, Gasly, who has clearly grown accustomed to Briatore's no-nonsense style, chimed in, expressing his appreciation for the team principal's straightforwardness, calling it an efficient use of time. But for someone like me, that kind of brutal honesty might be enough to make me crumble under the pressure.

This latest episode not only highlights the stakes involved in F1 racing but also sheds light on the intense pressure young drivers face in a sport where the margin for error is razor-thin. With Briatore at the helm, there's no room for mediocrity—only relentless pursuit of excellence. Will Colapinto rise to the occasion and prove his worth, or will he become yet another casualty in the unforgiving world of Formula 1? Stay tuned as the drama unfolds on and off the track!
