On the way to the Portuguese market, in partnership with Grupo MCoutinho, Ebro has started production of the new S700 HEV, yet another milestone in the reindustrialization process of the “revived” manufacturer in 2023 with the support of the Chinese company Chery. The new model also reinforces the commitment to an efficient electrification process and is presented as a strategic pillar of the Spanish brand’s range, powered by a hybrid engine based on a 1.5 TGDI gasoline engine supported by an electric motor, with a combined power of 224 hp, a consumption of 5.7 l/100 km, and CO2 emissions of 129 g/km in the combined WLTP cycle.
According to Ebro, the new SUV is aimed at drivers who are fans of technology, responsible mobility, and safety: “The S700 HEV expands our range of electrified vehicles with a solution adapted for everyday use: it is efficient, requires no recharging, and features technological and safety contents typically found only in higher segments. This is another step towards our goal of presenting a reference range and industrial facilities in the era of sustainable mobility,” says Pedro Calef from Ebro. The start of Ebro’s operations in Portugal is expected to take place in the first half of this year, with a range of models powered by hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and gasoline engines: S400 HEV, S700 (gasoline, HEV, and PHEV), S800 (gasoline and PHEV), and S900 (PHEV).
