Mario Andretti afirma que a Andretti F1 terá uma reunião crucial com a FOM para reverter a rejeição de sua proposta para 2026.

The Andretti group is eager to demonstrate their capabilities in Formula 1 if they receive a genuine opportunity. Despite F1 rejecting their initial proposal, Andretti has been working persistently to enhance their facilities and position themselves for a possible entry in 2026. As part of this effort, the team has built a substantial facility in Silverstone to expedite the development process of their cars.

Recently, a person associated with the Andretti group discussed their plans for the future. According to this person, the team will soon have a crucial meeting with the FOM to discuss their potential entry in the 2026 F1 season under the new regulations. Andretti has been actively seeking a spot in F1 since 2021.

The FIA has subjected us to rigorous scrutiny so that we can meet all requirements. We are now awaiting final approval from the FOM, and a significant meeting is scheduled to take place soon. The renowned Andretti name carries immense weight in the world of motor sports, and only time will tell if they will grace the F1 grid in 2026.

The establishment of the recently built facility in Silverstone serves as a testament to the Andretti team’s confidence in obtaining FOM approval. In the same interview, Mario Andretti was asked about the progress of developing their cars for the 2026 season.

We have been working tirelessly since the beginning. We already have a car, a wind tunnel, and other necessary resources. Our current goal is to participate in the 2026 season. However, there are several crucial factors that need to be defined once we receive a definitive confirmation. This includes hiring experienced individuals who are eager to join us. Therefore, a positive affirmation is essential before we proceed with extending contracts.

Mario emphasized that, since 2021, when discussions with the FIA and FOM began, they have been actively working on building the car. He concluded by stating that, once they receive a definitive “yes” from the FOM, they will accelerate the process even further and secure contracts with high-level personnel to ensure the best possible car for the pinnacle of motor racing in 2026.
