The Xiaomi YU7 was the best-selling car in China during the past month of January. According to news from the website CarNewsChina, this achievement was reported by an executive from Xiaomi itself, and confirmed by the numbers later released by the website Autohome, which placed the YU7 at the top of the list of the best-selling passenger models in the Chinese market in the first month of 2026.
With a total of 37,869 cars sold, the YU7 left two models from Geely, the Boyue L and the Geome Xingyuan, in second and third positions on the podium, with 34,176 and 29,007 units sold, respectively. The successful Model Y from Tesla appears only in twentieth place, with less than half the sales of Xiaomi’s model: 16,845 cars delivered.
This is yet another indicator that proves the success of Xiaomi’s second model, which has been experiencing impressive growth since its original launch. In August of last year, it occupied the 23rd place in the sales ranking, rising to 14th in September, and reaching 5th and 6th positions in October and November, respectively. In the last month of the year, it climbed to 3rd place, before taking the top spot at the beginning of 2026.
In terms of volume, the YU7 has also demonstrated impressive performance. It accumulated 33,662 units sold in October, followed by 33,729 units in November. In the last month of 2025, there was a peak of 39,089 cars sold, and the slight drop recorded at the beginning of the year, 1,220 units less (for a total of 37,869), did not prevent it from taking the highest position on the table.
