Fernando Alonso preparado para sinalizar se tiver dificuldades aos 45 pós-acordo com a Aston Martin.

Fernando Alonso expressed his confidence in maintaining strong performances even at 45 years old for Aston Martin after agreeing to a contract extension. The Spanish driver secured a two-year contract with Aston Martin, ensuring his presence in Formula 1 until the end of the 2026 season. As the oldest driver on the grid, Alonso is determined to solidify his legacy in the sport for another five years.

Alonso’s new deal with Aston Martin allows him to compete for the British team during the introduction of the new regulations. Despite reaching the age of 45, Alonso remains committed to racing. He acknowledges that if he ever lacks motivation or feels physically unwell, he will take appropriate measures. The Asturian driver is willing to address these concerns openly at Silverstone, being the first to openly discuss such matters.

However, Alonso firmly believes that this scenario is unlikely to occur anytime soon. He points to his impressive performance during the last season as evidence. The race weekend in Suzuka stands out as one of his best races, further reinforcing his confidence in his abilities. Therefore, the two-time world champion feels great and sees no obstacles to continuing his career at the peak of motorsport.

In the past, Fernando Alonso had stated that he would prioritize Aston Martin when considering future teams. The demands of Formula 1 require his total commitment and dedication, leaving little room for other activities. Additionally, Alonso would need a few more races to fully commit to Aston Martin beyond the 2024 season.

Recognizing the challenges posed by the extensive 24-race calendar, Alonso acknowledges the impact this can have on a 42-year-old driver. However, his passion for racing outweighs any concerns. He is willing to make sacrifices for the simple pleasure of driving in Formula 1.

The contract extension for Fernando Alonso undoubtedly delighted his fans. Aston Martin has shown a significant improvement compared to their performance in the second half of the 2023 season. Currently in a tight battle with Mercedes for fifth place in the constructors’ championship, Alonso aims to achieve positive results throughout the year.
