Kyle Petty afirma que a NASCAR não tem “superastros” na área dos boxes.

In recent years, NASCAR has faced a significant challenge in the lack of prominent figures within the sport. Unlike in the past, there are no clear “superstars” who dominate the field and capture the attention of fans. This can be attributed to the fact that drivers’ performance levels have become more balanced, making it difficult for any individual to stand out from the rest.

This absence of stars has been a major disappointment for NASCAR, as it means the sport struggles to attract those who are not avid followers. In contrast, other motor sports such as Formula 1 and MotoGP have been able to seize this opportunity and attract potential fans. A former NASCAR driver recently discussed this issue during an appearance on the Out of the Groove podcast.

During the podcast, the 63-year-old driver highlighted the abundance of talented drivers in NASCAR who do not receive the recognition they deserve. However, he also expressed his frustration with the lack of true superstars within the sport. He called on both the drivers themselves and NASCAR as an organization to find a way to cultivate and promote individuals who can capture the attention of a wider audience.

Since its founding in 1984, HMS (short for Hendrick Motorsports) has established itself as one of the most formidable and iconic teams in NASCAR. The team has consistently adapted to the ever-changing landscape of the sport and achieved impressive results. This was evident in their recent performance at the Martinsville race, where they secured an impressive first, second, and third place.

Kyle Petty, a respected figure in the sport, praised HMS for its exceptional performance in Martinsville. He highlighted that the team has accumulated an impressive 14 championships over the years and continues to improve each season. Petty also emphasized the determination of team owner Rick Hendrick, who has played a crucial role in keeping the team alive and thriving since its creation in 1984.

The achievement of first, second, and third places by HMS in Martinsville was a historic moment for the team, marking its fourth such result in NASCAR history and the first at the Martinsville circuit. Undoubtedly, it is a feat that the team will strive to replicate in the upcoming races as they continue to showcase their strength and dominance in the sport.
