Kevin Harvick is a highly successful driver at Texas Motor Speedway. The race track has been a constant presence on the NASCAR calendar since the 1990s and, although it underwent a reconfiguration in 2017, it remains a favorite among fans and drivers. In his podcast, Harvick discussed the unique and challenging characteristics of the track compared to other circuits.

Harvick has secured three victories at the renowned Texas Speedway, establishing himself as one of the most talented drivers on the oval. However, drivers have criticized the wide and bumpy turns at Texas since the reconfiguration, comparing them more to a street course than a traditional circuit.

Contrary to this sentiment, the former Cup champion believes that Texas Speedway is genuinely distinct. The track renovation has made it more intriguing and peculiar for drivers, offering numerous passing opportunities due to its wide turns. Additionally, the steep banking of the track helps drivers maintain momentum through the turns. Consequently, Texas Speedway serves as an ideal location to test a driver’s skills due to its diverse nature, according to Harvick.

As the season began, Harvick secured a top five at Daytona, setting a precedent for subsequent races. However, since then, the 23XI driver has not been able to achieve his goals and has yet to reach the podium. However, considering Harvick’s past performances on the mile and a half track, he believes that Wallace is a driver to keep an eye on at Texas.

Harvick still elaborated on his belief that Texas and Kansas are two of the strongest tracks for the young driver. Furthermore, 23XI Racing has shown an upward trend recently, getting closer and closer to the top three. It is highly likely that the number 23 driver will secure a spot on the podium, or even a win, at this special track.

Currently, Wallace is in 12th place in the standings. However, with 18 races remaining in the season, he may not secure a spot in the playoffs without winning a race, as he did last season. Wallace aims to make the playoffs this year and advance beyond the Round of 12. To do so, he must secure a win in the race.
