Cadillac prepares for F1 revolution: Sergio Pérez vows to achieve greatness with new team

Title: Cadillac’s Bold F1 Entry: Sergio Pérez Promises a Revolutionary Journey Ahead!

In a groundbreaking move that has sent ripples throughout the motorsport world, Cadillac is set to make its much-anticipated debut in Formula 1 in 2026, introducing an unprecedented 11th team to the grid. This monumental entry not only signifies a fresh start for the iconic American brand but also heralds a sweeping technical overhaul of the racing cars themselves. With a dynamic duo at the helm—Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas—Cadillac is primed to shake up the status quo!

On January 16, the first-ever Cadillac Formula 1 car took to the track for its initial shakedown at the illustrious Silverstone circuit, with Pérez behind the wheel. The Mexican driver views this initiative as a golden opportunity to evolve rapidly and construct something extraordinary from the ground up. Meanwhile, Bottas is on a mission of his own—reinvigorating his career after a stint as Mercedes’ reserve driver in 2025. For him, the 2026 season represents a triumphant return to the limelight.

The stories of Pérez and Bottas are strikingly similar. Both made their F1 debuts in their early twenties—Pérez with Sauber in 2011 and Bottas joining the fray with Williams in 2013. Their wealth of experience is not just impressive; it is crucial for accelerating the development of Cadillac’s new team. Bottas has contributed to five Constructors’ Championships with Mercedes, while Pérez has two titles under his belt from his time at Red Bull. This seasoned pairing is poised to bring a wealth of knowledge to their new venture.

The ambitious project has already captured the attention of Hollywood, with renowned actor Keanu Reeves producing a documentary chronicling the team’s journey to the grid. Reeves, who previously showcased the rise of Brawn GP, sees an exciting blend of passion and expertise in the Cadillac squad, coinciding with a pivotal moment for F1 as it braces for a revolutionary change in aerodynamics and engine regulations.

“I want to go all the way with this team,” Pérez passionately declared in an interview. “I want to enjoy the journey with them, and I’m extremely confident that we will progress at an incredible pace. Cadillac is here to achieve great things!”

He further emphasized the unique challenges that come with starting anew, stating, “Valtteri and I have essentially been through every corner of the paddock, we’ve experienced everything there is in this sport. I believe we have a fantastic combination of drivers. Being part of building a team from the ground up is what truly excites me about this project.”

As the countdown to Cadillac’s debut in Formula 1 begins, the motorsport community holds its breath, eager to witness how this new chapter unfolds. Will Cadillac become a force to be reckoned with? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: the racing world is in for a thrilling ride!
