Doriane Pin skyrockets to Mercedes as 2025 F1 Academy champion: a thrilling new chapter!

Doriane Pin: From F1 Academy Champion to Mercedes Development Driver – A New Era Unfolds!

In a groundbreaking announcement that has sent shockwaves through the motorsport world, Doriane Pin, the sensational champion of the 2025 F1 Academy, has officially secured her place as a development driver for none other than Mercedes! This meteoric rise comes after two exhilarating seasons in the all-female racing series, showcasing her exceptional talent and determination.

The French prodigy will not only be stepping up her game but will also play a pivotal role within the esteemed Mercedes team. Her responsibilities will include crucial simulator development and a variety of factory and trackside duties that are essential for any aspiring Formula 1 star. This is not just any promotion; it is a testament to her hard work and commitment as part of the Mercedes junior programme.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Pin remarked, “My two years as part of the Junior Programme have helped me grow as a driver and this is a fantastic next step in my career.” She elaborated on her excitement to continue collaborating with the talented team at Brackley and Brixworth, stating, “I’m excited to keep working with everyone at Brackley and Brixworth and progressing toward future opportunities, both on and off track.”

Doriane also took a moment to express her gratitude towards the F1 Academy for paving the way for female drivers like herself. “The series provides a brilliant platform for female drivers, and I am honoured to be collecting the championship trophy this evening,” she stated proudly. Her passion for the sport is palpable as she recognizes the path she has carved, inspiring other women to follow in her tire tracks for the upcoming season.

Mercedes team representative, Bradley Lord, could hardly contain his excitement as he heralded Pin’s promotion. “We are delighted to announce that Doriane will step up to the role of Development Driver in 2026,” he declared. Highlighting her impressive skill set, Lord noted, “In her two years within our Junior Programme, it wasn’t just her dedication, speed, and race-craft that shone through but her technical feedback, engineering nous, and ability to effectively work with senior personnel too.”

He emphasized the necessity of these skills for any driver aspiring to climb the motorsport ladder, stating, “Honing these skills as part of a driver’s toolkit are vital… and critical to the development path of an F1 team.” The message is clear: Doriane Pin is not just a driver; she is a strategic asset poised to elevate the Mercedes team to new heights.

As the 22-year-old prepares for this thrilling chapter, she is also expected to announce a driving contract in the near future, which promises to keep the motorsport community on the edge of their seats. With her undeniable talent and formidable spirit, Doriane Pin is set to become a household name in the world of Formula 1. Brace yourselves, motorsport fans—this is just the beginning of an exhilarating journey!
