Bezzecchi recognizes the need to adjust his riding technique for the Ducati of 2023.

Bezzecchi reconhece a necessidade de ajustar sua técnica de pilotagem para a Ducati de 2023.

The Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi, a member of the VR46 team, acknowledged the need to make adjustments to his riding style on the 2023-spec Ducati. He expressed that the bike does not feel “automatic” to him, which has made the start of his 2024 MotoGP season challenging. Despite an impressive performance last season, finishing third in the Championship, Bezzecchi decided to stick with VR46 and use the previous season’s Desmosedici bike. Although he managed a respectable sixth place in Portimão, he has struggled to score points in the Sprints. Bezzecchi attributes this difficulty to the significant differences between the GP23 and his previous bike, the GP22, especially in terms of braking. He explains that he needs to adapt his riding style to the new bike, as it requires a different approach to braking and corners. Bezzecchi acknowledges that his instinct is to hold the brakes, but he is actively working to make the necessary changes to improve his performance. He recognizes the importance of improving his starts, as he has struggled with them throughout his MotoGP career. The challenging clutch of the Ducati bike has caused difficulties for Bezzecchi, and he admits that he has not had consistent success in his starts. Despite starting well in Qatar, he had a setback in Portugal due to a wheelie at the start, which caused him to lose acceleration and drop back into the middle of the pack.
