Jack Doohan Signals End of Alpine Era with Mysterious Social Media Post as Haas Opportunity Looms for F1 2026!

In a dramatic twist that has sent shockwaves through the motorsport community, Jack Doohan has seemingly waved goodbye to Alpine, hinting at a significant career shift with a cryptic social media post. This revelation comes hot on the heels of speculation that the talented Australian could be stepping into the role of reserve driver for Haas in the highly anticipated F1 2026 season.

After making his much-anticipated F1 debut during the 2024 season finale in Abu Dhabi, Doohan’s journey with Alpine reached a pivotal moment. Throughout the first six races of the 2025 season, he donned the Alpine colors, but the young driver faced a setback when he was replaced by Franco Colapinto before the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in May, having failed to secure any points. This mid-season shake-up relegated Doohan back to a reserve driver role, although he remained a prominent figure at Alpine, contributing to the team’s efforts through simulator work and race attendance.

The plot thickened when it was reported that Doohan has emerged as a frontrunner for the Haas reserve driver position for the 2026 campaign. As he weighs his options, including a possible return to the Japanese Super Formula series next season, the support from Toyota is proving pivotal. Toyota, having re-entered the F1 scene as a technical partner to Haas in October 2024 after a lengthy absence, is expected to bolster Doohan’s prospects with the team. The collaboration is set to deepen as Haas transitions to become the TGR (Toyota Gazoo Racing) Haas F1 Team in 2026.

In a telling move, Doohan took to social media, sharing a heartfelt montage of moments with the Alpine team, including a photograph of himself proudly holding his signed contract for the 2025 season. His post, devoid of any caption, has garnered nearly 100,000 likes, igniting speculation among fans and pundits alike. The Australian Grand Prix’s official account chimed in, showering the post with emojis of a love heart and the Australian flag, further fueling the emotional farewell narrative.

As Doohan prepares to make his mark in Super Formula, he recently participated in a post-season test at the renowned Suzuka circuit. However, the testing session was anything but smooth, as he crashed three times at the notoriously tricky Degner corners. Reports suggest that these incidents were the result of extensive experimentation with car setup, a stark reminder of the challenges that lay ahead for the young driver. His struggles at Suzuka echoed a similar mishap during the Japanese Grand Prix weekend in April, where he collided with the barriers early in the practice session.

With the F1 landscape ever-shifting, all eyes are now on Jack Doohan as he navigates this critical juncture in his racing career. Will he rise to the occasion with Haas, or will the challenges of Super Formula prove to be a more formidable adversary? One thing is certain: motorsport enthusiasts should prepare for a thrilling new chapter in Doohan’s journey!
