“Nissan doubles its Nismo sports range.”

Nissan duplica gama desportiva Nismo

Nissan has announced the global enhancement of its product range under the Nismo brand, as part of an initiative aimed at exploring the full potential of this sub-brand, particularly with sports models. This measure is part of the “Re:Nissan” strategy and is also the reason behind its participation in both the Super GT championship in Japan and the Formula E World Championship.

The starting point for promoting the DNA of the Japanese brand is the use of the motto “from the road to the track, and from the track to the road,” promising that the knowledge gained from competition will be applied to Nismo sports cars (the name is simply the acronym for Nissan Motorsport). At the same time, Nissan aims to double the number of Nismo models from five to ten, which will be accompanied by investments in more markets. Among the goals of the plan is an increase in sales from around 100,000 units annually to 150,000 by 2028 (simultaneously, an increase in exports from 40% to 60%).

Starting from the next fiscal year, which begins in March 2026, Nissan intends to present several prototypes of competition cars to accelerate the technological progress it deems necessary for the development of hardware and software, both for racing and for expanding the range of sports cars. A brand with a long and rich history also in the sports domain, Nissan also recognizes the potential of the sector for the restoration and maintenance of classic and iconic models, as evidenced by the expansion of activities in its restoration and modernization division (“restomod”) with the parts business for the Skyline GT-R R32, R33, and R34, which it plans to propose in more markets and for a greater number of models at a later stage.
