Ferrari’s shocking failure in 2025: will they rise from the ashes in 2026?

Ferrari’s 2023 Formula 1 Campaign: A Year of Heartbreak and Missed Opportunities

In a shocking twist of fate, the iconic Scuderia Ferrari has suffered through a tumultuous 2023 season, returning to the dark days of racing without a single Grand Prix victory. The last time the storied team from Maranello experienced such a dismal outcome was back in 2021, and the disappointment is palpable among fans and analysts alike.

This year, Ferrari’s only moment of glory came during the Sprint event in China, where Lewis Hamilton claimed victory, leaving the Scuderia’s supporters yearning for the days when they dominated the tracks. While they managed to secure a win in the Sprint, it starkly contrasts with the overall narrative of their Grand Prix performances, where they failed to ascend to the podium even once.

With the 2023 season characterized by fierce competition, particularly from Red Bull, who have stolen the spotlight, Ferrari’s once-promising prospects have turned into a haunting reminder of what could have been. In both 2022 and 2024, Ferrari battled valiantly, clinching second place in the Constructors’ Championship and fighting for the championship title against McLaren until the final race of the previous year. However, the current season has seen a disappointing regression, with the team finishing a disheartening fourth in the standings.

As the curtain falls on this cycle of technical development, the question looms large: what went wrong for Ferrari? Enthusiasts had hoped the 2023 season would mark the end of a 15-year drought without a championship title, but instead, they were met with a stark and painful reality. The team’s inability to secure wins has sparked an urgent call for change and revitalization in their approach to racing.

Former Formula 1 driver Herbert has openly expressed his dismay, stating, “The disappointment of 2025 is Ferrari; I hope for 2026…” His comments echo the sentiments of countless fans and experts who are demanding answers and a strategic overhaul. With the specter of past glories hovering over them, Ferrari must now regroup and rethink their strategy if they hope to reclaim their status as titans of the track.

The 2024 season looms on the horizon, and with it comes a flicker of hope that Ferrari can rise from the ashes of their disappointing campaign. But for now, the hearts of Tifosi are heavy, as they reflect on a season that promised so much but delivered so little. The challenge ahead is monumental, and the pressure is on for Ferrari to deliver a comeback worthy of their legendary status.
