Nico Rosberg warns Lewis Hamilton: quitting Ferrari is not an option after disastrous season

Nico Rosberg Sounds the Alarm: Lewis Hamilton Must Persist at Ferrari!

In a shocking revelation, 2016 Formula 1 World Champion Nico Rosberg has boldly declared that Lewis Hamilton has no option but to soldier on with Ferrari—despite a disastrous first season. This jaw-dropping commentary comes from Rosberg, who knows Hamilton all too well, having been his teammate at Mercedes during their fiercely contested championship battles from 2013 to 2016.

After a long tenure of 12 years with the Brackley-based squad, Hamilton made headlines when he opted to ditch Mercedes for the iconic Scuderia Ferrari at the start of the 2025 season. However, his much-anticipated move has turned into a nightmare, as Hamilton limped to a disheartening sixth place in the drivers’ championship, without even a single podium finish to his name!

What lies ahead for the seven-time champion? Despite having one more year left on his contract with Ferrari, Hamilton recently confessed to feeling “not looking forward” to the upcoming season in 2026. Yet, he also expressed excitement about sweeping regulatory changes set to transform the sport next year, which he hopes will revitalize his performance.

Hamilton joined Ferrari with grand aspirations of restoring the team’s championship glory—a feat they haven’t achieved since 2008. Yet, his first year has been nothing short of tumultuous. Alongside Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc, who has also voiced criticism about the team’s management, Hamilton has been actively proposing changes to get the iconic brand back to its winning ways.

Rosberg, weighing in on Hamilton’s plight during the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, emphatically stated, “I think he has to continue. Stopping now is not cool. He only just started this Ferrari project. To give up after only one season doesn’t work.” He urged Hamilton to give it another shot, hoping that next year’s car could reignite his former glory. “This year’s car is not great. His great struggle this year was qualifying pace… There were flashes of brilliance in the races, but qualifying was a big issue.”

As the anticipation builds for the 2026 season, questions loom: Can Hamilton reclaim his former dominance? His performance in 2025 left much to be desired, finishing a staggering 86 points behind Leclerc in the same vehicle. But as the sport braces for a shake-up with new regulations, hope remains for a Ferrari resurgence that might finally allow Hamilton to showcase his legendary talent.

For Hamilton, this might very well be a do-or-die scenario. With the clock ticking and his 41st birthday approaching in January, there’s no indication that Ferrari is considering an extension beyond the 2026 season. Will he rise from the ashes and prove his critics wrong, or is this the beginning of the end for one of F1’s all-time greats? The racing world watches with bated breath.
